Campagnolo Chorus Review
Italian masters Campagnolo was founded in 1933 by Tullio Campagnolo. Since the beginning Campagnolo have lead the cycling world, creating benchmark designs for other manufacturers to follow. Each product they create has been design with cyclists in mind and possesses a high quality finish. Over the years Campagnolo has produced excellent components and the Campagnolo Chorus is definitely one of their best chainsets. Created using a low density multidirectional carbon fibre material that has progressed with an overlay of unidirectional fibre, the carbon possesses an unbelievable level of rigidity. This rigidity can also be seen in the 5 crank arms which have been perfectly placed and joined to the semi-axle; this ergonomic design reduces the contact between the ankles and axle creating a more comfortable ride. Surprisingly, the Chorus’s single piece axle provides a terrific level of torque transmission.
The overall rigidity and torque of the chainset has ensured that no energy is lost between cyclist and bike which dramatically improves the overall performance of the cyclist. Additionally, the carbon design has created a very light weight crankset, weighing a record 690 grams. The light weight of the crankset makes it ideal for competitive cycling. Campagnolo’s Chorus aluminium plated chainrings feature asymmetrical toothing as well as steel rivets located below the teeth which help to direct the train creating accurate, smooth and quiet shifts. While the chainrings also feature Campagnolo ESP (Enchanced Shifting Performance) system; this anodized surface effective improves the shifting performance of the groupset and creates a very durable chainset.
The Chorus is fitted with classic stainless steal bearings, these cost effective bearings offer superior performance and guarantee a durable chainset. The Chorus offers an ideal Q-factor with the distance between the pedals perfectly measured to provide a very comfortable pedalling position for all riders, enabling riders to enjoy prolonged rides in the saddle. The Campagnolo Chorus provides an aggressive performance level unrivalled by any other chainset by any cycling manufacturer whilst remaining durable, attractive and comfortable.
The Chorus comes in a number of different options including:

The Chorus was engineered to ‘transmit all of the cyclist’s power, without losing even one Watt.’ The chainset provides the ultimate in performance: Fast and fluid shifting, smooth and fluid pedal strokes and maximum rigidity for perfect power transmission.
The chainset features the Ultra- Torque™ crankset spindle which permanently conjoins the semi-axles of the bottom bracket to each crank arm, resulting in a low weight, excellent stiffness and efficiency of power transmission.
The Chorus also features all new gear geometry which ensures the same value of stiffness of the gears but with 53 toothing, while the X.P.S.S.™ (eXtreme Performance Shifting System) ensures the best shifting speed possible and super precision even under load. The Ultra-Torque™ bottom bracket on the chainset ensures a perfect power transmission from the pedals to the cranks, while the eight upshift and two downshift chainring zones ensure fast, smooth and precise shifting. The Chorus Carbon 11sp TT chainset weighs in at just 757g.
