The cadence has been produced using forged 6066 aluminium alloy, this material provides the cadence with an unbelievable level of strength and stiffness than can be felt immediately when ridden. While the 6066 aluminium alloy has had a special multi-stage process which has removed any excess, creating a light weigh chainset which weighs 820 grams. The chainset also features the newly redesigned chromoly steel axle which has been joined to the left-hand crank arm, creating a smaller scaled chainset, this smaller area and the low Q-factor offers a more comfy ride. It is this comfortable feel and stiffness of the chainset which guarantees that all power is transferred directly to the bike allowing the cyclist to reach an unparalleled performance level. The cadence features Race Face’s unique bearing X-Type system, the bearings possess a triple wiper seals with Phil Wood’s innovative inside waterproof grease, making the chainset extremely durable. Also featured on the cadence is the 7075 aluminium CNC machined chainrings which shifts excellently between all ratios and is extremely durable with the chainrings showing no sign of wear after extensive testing. The installation was quick getting cyclist back on the road in a record time, while the look of the chainset would improve the appearance of any bike frame. Overall, with no faults found during testing it is clear that Race Face have succeeded in producing a fantastic rigid, strong and durable chainset. You would have difficulty finding a better design and durability from any other manufacturer.
